Meet the Author

Randy Carney

Dr. Randy Carney is a seasoned pastor, marriage coach, and author with more than 56 years of ministry experience. He currently serves at JCity Church, where his practical, Bible-centered teaching has helped countless individuals and couples strengthen their faith and relationships.

Randy and his wife, Rhonda, were married in 1972 and have now shared more than five decades of life and ministry together. They are the grateful parents of four children and the proud grandparents of twelve. Their long, lived experience in marriage—combined with years of walking alongside struggling couples—fuels Randy’s passion for helping husbands and wives build thriving, Christ-centered homes.

Encouraged by Rhonda to begin writing—especially to challenge and equip husbands—Randy soon saw the need expand to serve both spouses. Over the years, many couples sought their guidance, which ultimately led to the development of the LOVING Way series: biblical, practical principles designed to help marriages flourish in the real world.

Dr. Carney holds a Bachelor of Science with triple concentration in chemistry, zoology, and speech, along with a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry. His studies include time at Rend Lake College, Southern Illinois University, Memphis Theological Seminary, Midwestern Baptist Seminary, Southwestern Baptist Seminary, and Luther Rice Seminary. His approach to marriage coaching is shaped both by formal theological training and decades of personal study and experience.

Together, Randy and Rhonda lead marriage conferences and retreats. More frequently, Randy speaks on the topic for speaking engagements. While Randy focuses on teaching and coaching, Rhonda often ministers to women and serves as a trusted confidante and prayer partner. Their family’s ministry legacy also extends overseas, where their son and his family have served as missionaries in Japan for many years.
